Pastor's Welcome

Welcome to this small slice of the virtual world dedicated to Memorial Presbyterian Church, in Appleton, Wisconsin. Feel free to browse around, and learn a little more about the ways in which the members of this congregation seek to make their faith a vital part of their lives, and the life of our larger community.

You'll learn that ours is a congregation dedicated to the tasks of Worship, Education and Mission that do not separate, but connect us to the world around us. But I hope you'll also find the limits of this electronic world, and be tempted to try us out "in person."

It's been my pleasure to serve as Pastor of this congregation since March of 1996. Through the course of these years we've done and tried many things, but when it's all said and done, I suspect the thing that most people have taken away from their association with this part of the body of Christ has been a friendship, a consoling word, a shared laugh. Apart from mission statements, visions, and goals, what we're really about at MPC is building strong relationships--between ourselves and the God who claims us, between ourselves and others who share a common journey, and between ourselves and those strangers in whose faces we believe we will see the face of God.

This can be a very lonely world, and our busy-ness can sometimes keep us from the very things we most long for. Every now and then, though, a little crack opens up, and we find ourselves vulnerable, open to the healing touch of another living, breathing human being. Join us some Sunday morning on the corner of College and Meade, and let us help you find your way home to a congregation committed to being the Body of Christ in the world.
